Theses - Criteria and Requirements
1. Within three months of the completion of the INSEAD course the recipients of Louis Franck Scholarships are required to submit a thesis to the Selection Committee.

2. The copyright of the thesis will be vested in the Trustees of the Old Broad Street Charity Trust and they plan to publish some of the submitted theses on the Louis Franck Scholarship website. In accepting the award recipients thereby waive all copyright in the thesis submitted to the Trustees and irrevocably agree that the Trustees may publish it on the Louis Franck Scholarship website or elsewhere.

3. The recipient may choose the subject matter of the thesis provided it falls within the following general guidelines:
​
a) It should be directly concerned with some aspect of business or commerce with which the applicant is familiar, or in which the applicant has experience, as a result of his occupation or voluntary activities before attending the INSEAD course; and
b) it should be an area where the recipient feels that his understanding of the subject has been altered or his approach to the subject changed as a result of attending the course at INSEAD.
The thesis should specifically describe in what way the INSEAD course has equipped the applicant with a better knowledge and understanding:-
i) of the scope and ramifications of his chosen subject under (a) above;
and
ii) has enhanced his ability to pursue the career he has chosen on leaving INSEAD; and
iii) it should state whether and in what way the course at INSEAD could usefully be reshaped in order to be of greater value to the applicant in the career he has chosen on leaving INSEAD.

4. The thesis may be of any length decided by the applicant but should not be less than 2,000 words.

The thesis should be submitted to Darren Wing at Rawlinson & Hunter at OBSCT@rawlinson-hunter.com who will then distribute it to the Chair of the Interview Committee and the Trustees.

The purpose of the award is to widen that person's knowledge and experience and thus strive to attain the highest level of executive management.
